What is the most popular hypertension medication prescribed by GP's for people under the age of 55? (Lisinopril, Ramipril, Losartan and valsartan? )

I am interested to know which ones are most tolerable in terms of side effects.

I may may have to go on some tablets for high blood pressure aswell as more exercise and better food!!

I take Lercandipidine, Candesartan, Atenolol,Spironolactone and Indapamide. Had severe oedema with Amlodipine and heart failure symptoms with doxasozin.

I find Lercandipine fine. Only problem is that the PIL suggests may be potentiated by alcohol, 'so avoid'. However, GP agrees with me that, providing there’s no sudden catastophic effect...... which there doesn’t seem to be ...... having a drink is quite a good idea!.
Agree about the oedema witn Amlopdipine. Mine wasn’t severe, but concerning.
