  • Pink - My Favourite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi All

Well I'm so excited I'm nearly bursting! I got tickets today to see pink in concert 2nd Dec at Sheffield. Anyone wanna come? There are seats left.

So that means my concert schedule this year so far includes Bon Jovi, The Rolling Stones and the best of all PINK!

Now what I like about Pink is she's a strong woman, she speaks her mind, she won't be bullied by anyone, she stands up for things she believes in and her music is great.

On a different note, my mate has just got a great laptop for under £700. He has also bought a TV card that even gets freeview on it. I'm thinking of getting one (no I am getting one) on Saturday so I can watch the forth coming footie when I am at some of the quite shops I work at!

What a week, and the World Cup's about to start.......bliss.......

Cash your cheques, place your bets, and hope you always win.......

    Concerts...

Say Robin Trower and the band at the Boardwalk last month. Truly an awesome guitar player with a good band around him.

Personally I would like to escape into a parallel universe where two things don't exist.
    1. The World Cup. I'm sorry I just don't like football at all.
    2. The Da Vinci Code. OK it was a good read but hardly enough to shake the pillars of christianity.
    47 BC : Julius Cesar : Veni Vidi Vici : I came, I saw I conquered.
    2018 AD : Modern Man : I shopped, I clicked, I collected.
    How times change.

If you find you have read something that has upset or offended you an anyway please unread it at once.

      1. You don't like FOOTBALL - the beautiful game? Whats wrong with you? Oh my........maybe we can all chip in and get you some help.

      2. I liked the book. I'm not sure what was fact from fiction, but I do wonder about the claim that the catholic church murdered over 5 million women. And I do know that people used to worship goddesses, as women were seen as the givers of life, so would like to know if the meeting in 325 with Constantine was true. What I am sure about is that the bible was written by men, and didn't just fall from a cloud one day. I also think Jesus was probably a charismatic person, but just a man that was killed the same way thousands of people were, and not for me.

      Just my opinion

1.Don't get me started on bloody football! Bunch of overgrown schoolboys being paid millions and never working a day in their lives!
The best of it is they get paid millions and then can't guarantee that they'll score when they get the chance. Would you pay a plumber if he said "I'll come out and will fix it most of the time. If I don't fix it you still pay me!"?
As for match bonuses I'd love that. I'd ring Alliance and say you pay me for working next week and pay me extra if I actually turn up! Bloody Football!

        2. The Da Vinci Code. I can't believe how this has caused such a furore! It may be a good story but it's about as true as The Amityville Horror or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. There are elements of truth but the actual book contains about 16 inaccuracies in the first chapter alone! If you're interested in that sort of thing I suggest reading The Fortean Times, a monthly journal of the strange and paranormal.
The best program I saw about this was one where three Da Vinci Code fans were taken to speak to experts at the vatican, experts on Da Vinci, experts on the Grail. Then they argued with them. They'd read some pulp paperback and felt that this gave them the necessary knowledge to argue with people that ahd studied every piece of work on Da Vinci and the Grail. It was hilarious!

Not you as well! What's up with you all?????? I can't believe it, I really can't.

So do you know if the church really murdered 5 million women? Do they still protect paedophille preists? Or are they all just a nice bunch of guys?

This actually reminds me of something that happened years ago. Some guy knocked at my parents house, and asked my dad if he would sign a petition against women vicars. My dad said no he would not. The guy asked why, and my dad said: -

"because if the vicars are women, at least the choir boys will be safe!"

          I loved that.............................

I believe that the Church does a lot that should be abhored but some of the things stated in the DV Code are just silly and have no basis in fact.

If you want to find some reason to get angry at the church go to The Vatican.

It is truly disgusting the amount of money in St Peters. We went to Italy several years ago and saw the monastery of Monte Casino which is beautiful and the Vatican which is obscene. If they really wanted to help the world they could melt down all the gold and sell the artwork and feed the third world with the proceeds!

It's not just Communists that keep all the best bits for the upper echelons!

            As a sideline here's a joke I heard:

Johnny goes to see the Pope in the vatican and his mother buys him a Newcastle strip so he stands out.
First day there they go to St Peters square and the Pope comes out and stops about five yards from Johnny. But he speaks to a boy in a Man U shirt and goes back in.
He's so distraught that his mother buys him a Man U strip for the next day saying, "He'll stop to talk to you now like he did that other boy."
Next day: The Pope walks right up to Johnny and says, "I thought I told you to p*ss off yesterday!"

                Religion is faith not fact.
Remember at catholic infants school, way back in 1965, we were asked to draw the nativity scene. Handed mine in to show the teacher, I was told to go back and draw some snow on it, I said that me and my dad had been talking about the first christmas, and palestine is a hot country so there wouldn't be any snow. Got smacked legs and sent to the headmaster in tears. A lesson learned about religion early on. Nothing compared to the heretics in the inquisition and all the other religious purges though.

                  Hi

I personally just don't like religion of any form. What I really hate is the way they start with children. I think it's wrong to push these views on people, who don't yet have the intellectual ability to question wether things are true or not, i.e. children. But if you let someone grow up, and then take a look at it and decide for themselves, they don't buy it of course, which I guess is why they do it in the first place.

Coincidentally, I spoke to a Rev yesterday. He was a really rude man, and didn't appear to have an ounce of warmth in his body. Two of the staff had him as their teacher at school, and said I was spot on - the guy was horrible. In fact when I come to think of it, 90% of the most horrible people I personally know are all church regulars. I tend to suspect that they are guarding their own little spot in heaven, rather then trying to lead a good life. But this is just my own experience, and as I've already said I've no time for any of it.

So I guess from Pharmanaut's post that it's true about 5 million women being murdered then?

In Mort a Terry Pratchett novel Death gets an apprentice and he gets miffed that everyone got what they believed they deserved when they died.

All the miserable sh*ts that believed they were good and noble and religious got to go to heaven and most of the good ones who thought they hadn't done enough to get to heaven went to hell!

I have read a few of Terry Ptatchett's books and really like them. I think I'd prefer to go to hell anyway, as it's probably got all the things there that I like.

                              Wow

How was it??? Fantastic that's how it was!

She has a great voice, the set was great, everything was just brilliant.

I was a bit naughty and sneaked in a camera with a big zoom lens on it - they checked bags but I had it hidden under my arm inside my coat! So I also got some great photos!
