I have a lady who asks for "Disco tears".

I also laughed at the generic Flomaxtra called Petyme. Nurse says to patient on medicine round "Its pee time!"

I'm sure my neighbours just heard me scream with laughter. Especially as til a few years ago I thought adamantine was a typo for amantadine!

Being of the science persuasion though, what about genes? We have "magic roundabout", "sonic hedghog" and "Pokemon"!

We used slip a joke script into the pile when we had a new dispenser under training.
The patient name was Daftaza Brush.

haha, it always reminds me of the actress Anna Friel from Brookside/Pushing up Daisies!

I'm not so good with saying the drug names correctly but we have one member of staff who really can't pronounce the drug names and asked a question about deCHOCS-in! (Digoxin) perhaps this is an anti-chocolant for chocoholics!?

                  Re: amusing drug names

Then I need some de-chocs in! When I did my pre-reg the standard prank on new student nurses was to send them down to the pharmacy with a drug chart written up with "Bowmann's capsules". We used to keep empty gelatin capsules with little ribbons tied in bows round them for that purpose. Now that's inter-professional communication!

Now how many of you have been asked for "codicil" mouthwash? Is it something pharmacists leave in their will?

It's that "Thank you God for making me a woman" bit.

Reminds me of an old joke.

If I send her the wool would she make me one, too!
