  • Strictly Come Dancing - 2008

    Hey ppl

Totally addicted to this TV show – starting my salsa classes soon!

I think Rachel Stevens looked so gorgeous and performed really well last week.

Lila (professional dancer) – love her too!

The men – no one is standing out for me as yet….

Who’s your favorite? Who’s got potential?

Men - Austin, Tom and Andrew/Mark to make the final few weeks

Women - Rachel and Cherie to make the final few weeks

Not enjoying it as much as previous years and still hate the Sunday night results when they film it on the Saturday straight after then televised show. Am a member of another forum just to get the result and don't watch Sunday on point of principle.

don't be daft Ali - read some of the other forum posts - particularly one in this section about txt spk. It's crap, low-brow and insults our intelligence whilst causing others to question your intelligence in using it. Try to use something approaching proper english!

oh! forgot to say! Rachel for the win!

Or perhaps just that the user is under 30?!
Generally I deplore it, 'dumbing down' and all that. BUT I do find certain bits are useful shorthand. Is the occasional lol or smiley so wrong? I'm a little torn.

Maybe it's about knowing that there's a time/place etc for different types of language e.g. I would never swear at work, and never in front of my mother; but I may resort to it if suitably roused.
Similarly I would never use txt speak while acting as a pharmacist. We are professionals. Not chavs . But becoming a professional is a journey that takes time, from student days past qualification and beyond. Maybe the other forum users who do think it ok to write entirely in txt speak on what is, after all, a work / professional based forum are just at a different point in their professional journey.

Oh and Strictly rules. I really can't choose between the chaps and Rachel, I adore it! Especially watching Claudia on Strictly: It takes two (bbc2 6.30pm). I'm sure she should be my friend lol....
