  • Help!!!

I have been using the forum for a little while now and feel it unnecessary to introduce myself. However..........!

I have had two requests from individuals to be "friends". I have no problem because I respect greatly what they contribute here and in real life would love to number them amongst my friends. However, I don't know how to do it, don't understand what the advantage to all concerned is (we can after all communicate by e-mail or by "pm") and generally am a bit puzzled.

Could someone enlighten me as to what the process is and how to complete it please.

As for the two individuals, I respect you very much and am immensely flattered by your contacting me in this way.

I've managed to add them (sorry for "outing" you folks). But still don't understand what I need to do next?

      Re: Help!!!

Meet up once a week for a few pints and a game of darts? Good point...I think some members may see the "friends" process as a means to gain support from "friendly members" for their posts...

usually people add friends for no reason, so it does not matter if you accept/reject the friend requests on this site. on other sites, it usually means ' i am not interested'
When we were your age, we made friends for a reason...friendship...the "old way". You are correct in saying there was no facebook, hi5, myspace etc. Most of the friends I have made through personal contact throughout the years are still friends and will always remain so.

I meet them and we talk, we eat, we drink. We don't push a few buttons in response to an avatar who types a lot..."the new way?"

Strangely, I still much prefer the old way.

                Re: Help!!!

To be honest, I don’t see anything wrong with adding people you ‘enjoy talking to’ as friends…..

I’m on facebook too, and I’ve found so many old friends on there who I hadn’t spoken to in ages….but once I added them as friends…I felt I had some ‘contact’ with them. It's got nothing to do with age.

I feel the same about this forum…and who knows we might all bump into each at some point??? Pharmacy is a small world.

You can spot me at the pharmacy events – I’m the lady wearing red lipstick and a diamond necklace….
