  • US Drug Testing Industry that Barely Exists in UK

It appears that there is a huge drug testing industry in the US which hardly exists in the UK and is making big profits for American doctors:

    Taking the proverbial?

Pharmacists could get this bandwagon started here perhaps?
The main difference is the payment structure in the US with no general NHS?

The US enjoys invading people's privacy, they drug test people as standard whilst in employment. Which is something I would never want to see here unless there is a legitimate reason.

Keep things like this quiet; they might start testing pharmacists soon if they read about things like this.

When I was a Practice Director I offered a private GP service to specialist engineering companies/oil companies. This was an annual medical, new worker entrant medical and both included specific drug testing. I left the practice six and a half years ago so I don't know whether they still provide the service. I designed and resourced the service with a GP colleague, pitched it to the companies and they thought it was a good, reliable, value for money service. It gave us a 25% to 50% profit depending on the tests and medical.
