  • private Rx delivery service

ive jus run into the lloyds pharmacy website, and while browsing discovered they offer to deliver privately prescribed medicine to your door, now I went as far as when they want you to register, but before that they ask you to confirm you have a valid prescription and then then which medicine it is and the quantity...... to me this sounds a bit dodgy, does anyone know how this service works? the "greyed" tabs i could see didnt indicate they wanted information about the prescriber, dosage directions or even the actual Rx, just that the delievery address should be the same as the address on the rx

Sounds like part of their new hub and spoke dispensing.

whatever it is, sounds lik bad news, I see no indication anywhere of how or if the Rx will be taken off the patient, or anything to make sure there is a Rx, just a declaration from the patient that they possess a valid Rx.

maybe it's simply to generate a price quote, then they issue instructions? eg take to nominated pharmacy who will have it ready for you on production of a legal Rx? Or post it to the hub dispensing place and they courier it out to you once the Rx is processed?

That's two ways i could see of doing it without my brains dribbling out of my ears over the legal implications...

thanks for the contemplation, but I remmeber they quoted a delivery first class, so thats at most 2 days, consider the below:

"If you have a Private Prescription you can now use our on-line prescription service. If that prescription is for your child, then please phone our call centre on 0800 707 6160*.

Private prescriptions P&P costs are £3.95 or free for order values over £40.
[Royal Mail - 1st class recorded service]

I confirm that I am in possession of a private prescription signed by a UK doctor and that the prescription is for me. I understand that I must place the order in the name on the private prescription, and my registered address must match that on the private prescription"

if you accept the above it takes you to the screen for what med you want and after that it asks your details

had a quick buzz around the lloyds site - and had a look in the T&Cs on there - they have a section for private script web delivery - from the way the T&Cs are worded you order it all and pay then send them the Rx before they dispatch the goods. If the Rx doesn't match, isn't legal or the item is on an MCS then they refund your money and send you the Rx back.
