  • Decision Time....

Hi there. I will be starting my career as Pharm Tech (higher level) Band 5 soon. I've done a pharmacy degree from overseas and MBA from UK. Could any please tell what could be the best career progresion in NHS for me? Which field is more rewarding in terms of good job and good pay? Fields like: Clinical Trials/Medicines Info/ QA/Manufacturing/Med Management? or any other field or Route I can choose? What about doing part time MSc in any specialised pharmacy field? Any one please suggest?? Many Thanks.

To put it bluntly, you are overqualified to work in a pharmacy as a technician be it hospital or community. Doing an MSc will not help you get a better job in Hospital or community. Contacting a massive multiple, a drug company or looking for a pure management job in the NHS will be more fruitful for you. The Guardian on a Thursday I understand has the jobs you may be looking for.

If you have an overseas pharmacy degree you should be applying to do an overseas pharmacists course (I know Sunderland offer one) and seeking to practice as a pharmacist. Then you may well be well positioned to capitalise on your MBA
