  • s/c octreotide

came across a case where s/c octreotide was given to a 1-year-old patient gor the esophageal variceal bleeding. the volume supposed to be given is too small (less than 0.1 ml) and thus it was diluted with water for injection prior to admin. any comments? is it common that s/c medication be diluted before administration?

syringe drivers are dilutions of drugs for sc administration. I have seen glucose 5% prescribed sc once, something like 1L over 24 hours.
