  • Community Pharmacy in Scotland vs England

    Hi all,

I am currently a community pharmacist practising in East Anglia, but may consider relocating just to see what it is like in Scotland. I have always had the impression that pharmacists in Scotland (both community and hospital) seem to cover more clinical roles and do a diversity of services, when compared to England.

I would like to know what the main differences are when practising in Scotland vs England, as well as what services or skill-sets I should develop, to be more attractive for a Scottish community pharmacy employer to hire me.

I have read a little from here:, but I was wondering if there are any people in the forum who are 'on the ground' and currently practising in Scotland, who could provide personal advice/share their opinion.

    Thanks in advance!
