  • Saturation ?

Has anyone else read the recent article in the pj in relation to employment prospects etc.

What is everyones take, I personally feel the market WON'T become saturated as it seems a lot of pharmacists are heading out due to lack of satisfaction.

      Re: Saturation ?

Just a few thoughts on the 'saturation' of the job market for pharmacists.

The articles also forget at times that full-time male pharmacists retiring are replaced by female pharmacists who take time out to have families or work reduced hours.
(Nothing gender-biased implied here - just thinking things through)

I'm also anticipating a trend for the general workforce to want to reduce their hours due to the increasingly stressful nature of the job and the 'extended hours' culture. I would expect that younger pharmacists have more sense than my generation had - to slog away at work and miss their children's formative years, or not see daylight for 6 days at a time.

Therefore saturation will probably not occur as fast as we would initially think it would.

      How times change.

If you find you have read something that has upset or offended you an anyway please unread it at once.
