Default How regularly does one get work?

So as the title says, how regularly does one get work as a locum. I'm thinking of locum work after I have done my pre-reg. The reason being that I would like to eventually practice in America and I need time and money to study for the exams required.

I put an advert in the PJ in 1957 and was immediately swamped with offers.

I did this again in 1986 with same result.

Thank you for your reply. I intend to do locum work as soon as I am registered. Would this affect the number of response I get?
