    Enough of this!

There's so many people bloody crying about pharmacy saying there's no opportunities, no locum jobs, the pay is getting less, blah blah blah I don't get it and its annoying. If you can't see any opportunities then broaden your horizons, if you can't get enough locum work, apply for a permanent position where they will pay relocation costs. If you're unhappy about injustices in the pharmacy contract, write a letter, join the lpc, if your unhappy with your job, retrain and do something you enjoy. Do something except complain! I'm sat at work having done a few consecutive 7-11pm shifts and I'm working all weekend too why? Because I want to own my own store one day. The people who don't succeed I'm told are those without the "balls" to take measured risks, so everyone, lets take some financial risks, do your feasability studies, work long and hard, save your moneys, get the extra accreditations and qualifications, sell your expensive cars and reduce unnecessary expenses to sieze the brilliant opportunities we have. Stop blaming the government and multiples, lets get together, and lets do some wonderful things with our careers!

    Re: Enough of this!

I was locuming a few years ago at £25 per hour. I was never short of work.
    Why?
I turned up early and worked my @ss off and did my best for every patient, addict, member of staff and delivery driver.

Pharmacists can change pharmacy for the better so moan to your head office/buyer/patients association/npsa/psnc/the daily mail. If working for a multiple speak to the branding exec and explain about cr@p generics and PIs. If they don't get it speak to the chief buyer. Post them some empty boxes! Send them some rubbish labels from your PMR. Email them a photograph of the worst things in your pharmacy. Head offices have a rose coloured image of the front line. Hello Mr chief exec just thought you ought to know that there was a 35 minute wait today in my pharmacy due to x and y. I'm sure that you wouldn't want 35 minutes so why are your customers having to put up with this? If I needed a prescription I would have walked out today and sent my script to Pharmacy2U.

Are you a "manager" that doesn't train your staff to the highest standards? Are you a locum who arrives late as you've bought a paper on the way in?

Tesh I'm with you but luckily not working in community anymore.

I agree with Tesh & Web ferrett. Rather than complaining do something about it. It's your decision. Fortunately, I still practice pharmacy (which I enjoy), but I also took a decision to do something different which doesn't require traditional business investments and able to be successful by helping others be successful. For those fed up for working for others and want to achieve their dreams and goals - Interested in doing something different? send me a personal message. otherwise good luck in whatever you are doing for the rest of your life (until 68yrs - soon to be retirement age!)
