Is this where you work for 1 hour and cover lunch breaks?
I'm interesting in working some if that's the case.

Not usually. This is where one chemist is open for a Sunday/Bank Holiday. For many years I did Sunday Rota two Sundays out of three.
Recently would do Sunday rota in a town 45 miles away. £43.50 for the hour and 30p/mile (£27). Made a pleasant trip.

But remember, it seems to me anyway, it is only ONE hour and the pharmacist is involved in the job for three hours, if you drive at 45mph which seems a reasonable speed. Take off £10 for petrol and you are left with £60.50 divide by 3 and that works out at a rate of £20.16 per hour not taking into account wear and tear of the vehicle.
It was SD Sudbury, Suffolk. Yes it did involve round trip of 90 miles and minimum total time of three hours.

I do my own. Don't need a locum for an hour
I once got asked by a certain supermarket pharmacy if the pharmacy where I was manager (an independent) would cover the one hour Easter Sunday rota as they didn't want to do it because of opening up the whole store (pharmacy was at back of store then) and involving security staff etc and to name my price - I did - £500- and they paid! My dispenser and I worked the hour and shared the payout- subject to tax and NI of course! Mind you, that was several years ago!
Now that is more like it.
