has this been confirmed and which region
Natural supply and demand economics.

in SW, S, London areas. not confirmed but next year this time it will be around that rate.
These are the same area's that the majority of locums book direct so they have no bargaining power. Join a good, reputable agency and overnight you have bargaining power!
Booking direct may seem like a good idea in the short term but in the long term is to blame for the reduction in rates. Can you imagine doctors booking direct?
Superdrug's national rates are £21 weekdays and £24 Saturdays from January 1st
Yes, mileage at 30p less 40 miles in a round trip. Not as good as Boots and Rowlands, but better than Asda
That is a scrooge like rate. It goes nowhere towards the real cost of running a vehicle. I am retired, thank goodness, but the rates you are telling me are terrible compared to what I used to pay good locums nearly ten years ago! Locums have to run a car on a business footing to be able to serve those who need locum cover. They don't have any of the benefits of working full time for a company, such as holiday pay, payment during illness etc. I'm amazed at how poorly you seem to be paid in general for what is a very responsible and stressful task.
Remember locum rates have only stagnated over these last few years, so with inflation you are effectively poorer. Before long it will be an employers paradise, and sub £20 will be the order of the day for most areas. Could it go as low as £15 per hour, who knows!
Just look to NI to see what over supply does to locum rates, even though the rates were nothing spectacular to begin with.
