    1st boots locum

so im locuming for boots tomorrow for the first time. I've only previously done 2 locum jobs at independents. And that's the majority of my community experience! Any tips/advice? I'm getting a bit nervous!

Boots are big on pcs. there are some store that have an amazing system whilst some don't. I find it stressful working in those unorganized stores cos it sometimes takes 4eva to find scripts. if u have sufficient staff jus stand in the front and take prescriptions whilst dispensers dispense. I actually enjoy working for boots. If only their pay was better in london..All the best and let us know how u get on. btw, they may get u 2 do an mur!

Stick to the Boots rules, lots of deep breaths at the strangenesses of their systems, and tell the dispensary staff that you want them to stick to the SOPs, and that you need to be told exactly what they want you to do.

Relax. In their big stores its a short day, and their smaller stores are more informal anyway.
    ....just my opinion

got through the day in one piece. Patients seemed to flood in batches, so were manic periods and quiet periods. Picked up the system quite fast though. Seemed pretty laborious. And I wasn't impressed at having to endorse by hand! Spent a lot of time on the healthcare assistant till as well. Was good experience

Still got that niggling feeling i'm a touch away from a lawsuit with a dispensing error, despite having a written SOP that I follow. Suppose i'll learn to live with that. Also, I wasn't set up on the payroll despite being told I would be. Shouldn't be suprised as I've seen a few threads on here about boots not paying locums. Will get onto the agency tomorrow morning

have u received the letter asking you to confirm your bank details? cos u will not get paid until they receive it. i so far haven't had problems with payment well apart from one payment that i am still waiting for. most organized stores fill in your details on the computer on the same day or next...some bad ones just leave it hanging in the dispensary for ages..n yeah forgot to tell u about spending time in the h/care counter, thats why they r so eager to give u till no's the minute u arrive...did u get asked 2 do murs?
