    I'd like to be paid!!!

Hi I'm a locum pharmacy tech and I have been waiting for my payments since September.
The company that is not paying me is Boots. I did work in three stores and had the same problem with all of them.
I called the store managers and they said the claim had been sent.(more than once)
Then I called the payment department and no claim was sent to them.
What can I do? anyone with the same problem? Please if you have any advice, let me know.
    Thanks

Phone the payments office and ask what they advise you to do. Make it their problem. Get a name.
If you get no joy there, PDA.
    ....just my opinion

Unfortunately a common problem with BTC. Claims have to follow a set procedure and what with carelessness, human failings, and sheer bloody incompetence, paperwork often does not get to correct destination. Always take a copy of everything and write a letter to the branch detailing what has happened. Ask them when paperwork was forwarded and to who and who by.

Some things never change.. try calling the area manager/locum co-ordinator.It took me about 4 months to get my 4 hours worth of locum work . Good luck .

An absolute classic. I can pretty much guarantee that there will be a Boots mole on this forum 'monitoring' this on behalf of his/her 'boss'. Consequently, in my opinion, you will be paid almost immediately. Otherwise, do please contact PDA, who will deal with your problem efficiently and well (as opposed to Boots, who really dislike posts such as these appearing in a public forum). Perhaps they will now begin doing what they like to say they do in their expensive advertising campaigns......look after people.. Should you still remain unpaid, please post again in this forum. We all need to know about any bad business practices, in order that we may all act accordingly.

I've had this problem with Boots in the past but a call to the PDA (their locum organiser, not the union) usually fixes it.

Good to know though that companies such as Boots do care what their image is on fora such as this one.

PDA take way too long to act on fees. Pester the area manager if no joy at the ivory towers. I give three weeks before I chase fees.

Well I hope the poster who started the thread in Jan has been paid now! I've had quick results once PDA would actually answer the phone. Of course, I should not have needed to pester the PDA or ring back several times to actually get the phone answered. If the shop staff are on the ball they can enter details onto the computer while you are there. If they don't do that then it is a bad sign and get ready to pester!

I have had similar with Rowlands Pharmacy. You fill in a sheet of hours, pay, travel expenses etc and have to send it off yourself once the branch pharmacist signs the form. However it takes weeks to be paid as the area manager has to authorise the payments. This was done through email, I occasionally rang the appropriate office and spoke to someone who was dealing with my payment and was waiting for the authoriasation from the area manager and had not yet received an email back from her yet. It took almost a month! And plenty of phone calls and emails to the area manager. I'm glad I no longer locum as a tech any more and I'm sure will enjoy my new job in hospital in 4 weeks time.
