keep record
hi,
can somebody explain me how to keep record for self-employement? spreadsheet would be welcomed.
I work as locum not on regular basis, very low income as self-employement, I don't want then set an accountant.

many free accountancy progs on net. You just need to make an entry on your tax return form under 'any other income'.

i do it in quite simple way:
on excel i've got these columns:
Company* Agency * Hours * Hourly Rate * Total (hours x hourly rate)* Miles * Miles Claimed * Mileage rate * Total (for mileage) * Grand total (Total + total (for mileage)). Then i've got a another colum for comments, like payment received on this and that day.
