Hi! As the title says I became a fully qualified pharmacist today! I am setting up a limited company. How will this affect how the pharmacies I work for pay into my account? I will be setting up a business account and understand that some companies, eg Alliance, get ur details on their system but for others do they pay by cheque? If so do I just tell whoever is booking me to make it payable to my company's name rather than my own? Also when making up business cards should I put my companies name on them followed by my own? Thanks |

I am seeing my accountant again tomorrow. Company has been set up. I think I need to have heques payable to the company rather than myself but not 100% How many pay by cheque rather than BACS? With business cards I was wondering what others who operate as a ltd. have on their cards? thanks |

You would certainly have to get cheques paid to the company - the company then pays you (either salary or dividends). As far as business cards are concerned, I think the company's name and details (registration number, name of Director, address of registered office) needs to be on them. It's worth making sure you get this right as Company law is a bit of a minefield.

Related to this, as an approximation, would % of tax&NI is deducted for someone on a community locum wage, who has set themselves up as a ltd company (ie the % of net take home pay that their company pays them). I uderstand this is a hmrc query but their site is too complex for a pharmacy simpleton like me. lol
