Offers for Pharmacy Summer Placement 2011 for MPharm Years 1, 2 and 3
I would like to start a little thread, for anyone wanting to talk about being accepted onto a Pharmacy Summer Placement 2011 Programme with Boots, Lloyds, Sainsbury’s, Rowlands, etc and sharing their feelings, views and experiences in this matter. I am sure other students using this thread, will find it most insightful and beneficial, in terms of understanding to what to expect from their placements.
It does not matter, which year of your MPharm Degree you are currently in and if this is your first or last summer placement (before pre - reg).
I am in my third year of MPharm course and last week I received a rejection from Sainsbury’s for Summer Placement 2011. As far as I know, there were three stages to get through - to be in with a chance of being offered a place. There was no interview at the end of the selection process.
Stage one was made up of providing your personal, work and study details and answering four essay type questions relating to pharmacy. Stage two dealt with verbal reasoning, where you had to answer questions using the text provided. Finally, stage three looked at your numerical skills and how well you interpreted tables and graphs. The latter two stages had a time limit of 30 minutes to complete.
The three application stages were hard and time consuming. Also, the system used to save your application form was not at all user friendly and fiddly to use.
