johnep, i have been looking in the drug tarriff and i have given my opinion of what i think is correct , as the drug tarrif does not give the answer to this exact question and i have to evaluate and give what i think is the answer.
i believe my question is valid. as it is not a closed examination condition case study i have every right to seek and learn from all available avenues.
Your response is completely not helpful.

    Co-amilofruse 2.5mg/20mg tablets 28 147 M

    56 186 M

As the drug tariff says, they will pay you what is listed, if you supply a brand makes no difference.

You supply Frumil LS, will get paid as per DT.

You will not last long in pharmacy if you are so quick to take offence when none meant.

    Re: case study

like johnep said u will not get paid for supplyin frumil ls as the prescription is written as a generic and there are generic co-amilofruse 2.5/20mg available, u would only be able to claim for frumil ls if the item was on the NCSO scheme but u would have to endorse the prescription NSCO frumil ls 28ex60 to get the payment or else u would still be paid for co-amilofruse 2.5/20mg hope that is helpful

I am surprised you call this a case study ????? As johnep said, this is just a simple scenario of referring to the DT. No book will give you answers (except those books with questions and related answers) You need to frame the answers based on the information available.

You have all the rights in your own way to seek for help from all the avenues, but not demand them. Be happy if someone gives some advice, don't expect people to sit here and answer point blank.

thank you melly69 and crit care for your help i shall look into it further and find out why i seem to be going wrong
johnep please take onboard what critcare said. shame on you for getting such a simple thing wrong.

Also note that it is a student section so yes i am learning, and when people are learning believe it or not they ALWAYS need some help. yes you might know more than me , yes you might be like a pharmacy god compared to me at this current time , but trust me i will easilly make it in a pharmacy once my training is complete as i will learn from all the helpfull input that i recieve. negative input like your comments just show me that you are the type of person that feels threatened by others climbing the same job ladder as yourself, its something you are going to have to deal with.
As a moderator of a student section you should know that small unjustified comments are not really appreciated as some of us find it hard enough without comments that are unhelpfull.

The first thing, as a student I was told, to learn was, how to behave and respect others and specially those in a position of imparting some knowledge to you. Because you are a student and posting in a student section does not mean you can blabber whatever you like. If your intentions are to learn, then you must be ready to take critisism as well. It would help you improve yourself in future.

By the way, please for god's sake just by puuting off someone in a public forum no one can stop that person from the so called "LADDER" I don't think you have read johnep's profile/ older posts before even you attempted to make such a statement. I will take this opportunity to save you some time and let you know that, as for what I have seen visiting this forum quite regularly, johnep is a senior pharmacist who has recently reduced/ stopped locumming, he has tremendous knowledge about this country's pharmacy practices over the decades and been very helpful in guiding people like me and hundreds more in making right decisions. He may be a little blunt, but not without a meaning.

Anyway, it hardly matters to any of us if you keep posting hate messages against those who pointed out lacunae in your approach. You will be a loser if these people don't share their experience.
