I remember a favourite viva question was : What are the muscarinic and cholinergic actions of acetyl choline?
I can remember the question but not the answer.

Don't you mean the muscarinic and nicotinic actions of acetylcholine ? This is something which they teach early in the degree course but which I've almost totally forgot ! Suppose you could relate it to actions/side effects of drugs such as anti-muscarinic effects of TCA's or inhaled anti-muscarinics eg ipratropium. Most drugs acting on cholinergic system have muscarinic effects, can only think of varenicline which acts on nicotinic receptors.

Yep I meant Nicotinic, but could not remember. Was nearly 60 years ago.
