You might not get a job, though, as any one working as a counter assistant must be working towards a qualification - and pharmacies are reluctant to train someone is who is about to disappear soon. This is a good option, as it will certainly help you towards your goal of achieving a degree in pharmacy.
If you do go to study pharmacy, here is some advice to getting a job in the summer after the first year of your degree. Make sure you start applying for summer positions BEFORE October of the year you start your degree programme. I got a nasty shock when I was looking around in January that I should have applied before Christmas...and I thought I was being clever asking around in January for a job for summer!
