4th Year Student - new to the forum!

Hello fellow pharmacists and pharmacy students,

I'm currently studying Pharmacy in Al-Arab Medical University in Libya. I'm in my fourth year now and it only JUST occurred to me to look for a pharmacy forum! doh! I'm very excited to have found this place and i plan on asking a lot of questions!

1st Question:

I will hopefully graduate by the end of this spring, and i plan on going abroad to either continue my education or work. I'm also a Canadian citizen so i'm keen on going there after i graduate. There's also a chance i may try to get a master's degree here before i leave. I would like some good material (textbooks) to prepare me for the evaluation exams or any other exam that may be required for me to go abroad. There are some differences in the Libyan curriculum as compared to other countries, so i may be required to know things that we didn't cover here in Libya. I would like an easy to read and comprehensive book on pharmacology, and any other book to prepare me for evaluation/qualification exams.

2nd Question: Well, lets answer the first question first :P

Every country imposes terms and conditions on people with overseas degrees. You will need to know requirements of particular area of Canada etc. Simply google Ontario pharmacy board etc.

Ah! Well i wasn't looking for something specific to any country, just something comprehensive to pharmacy practice in general. Don't they make books for evaluation exams? I was thinking something like that.

But aside from that, i still want a comprehensive, easy to read textbook on Pharmacology that someone might recommend.

Go to amazon.co.uk and search on pharmacology text books. Next to the pic of the book and price etc you will usually find a few reviews by other students, this should help you.

There you go! put pharmacology into amazon search on books and up came dozens.
Rang and dale seems very popular. As said many times on this forum, google is your friend.

I know there are dozens, which is why I asked. Just thought maybe people around here were in consensus over a good pharma book. I assumed thats something you guys would talk about, but i guess not. Rang and dale, i'll check that out.

I'm new to this forum, but i'm not new to forums. My general experience is that if someone asks a noobish or annoying question, best thing to do is to ignore it, rather than having a cynical response like "google is your friend." Best way to avoid needless arguments.

Anyways, i also thought this was a chance for me to introduce myself since i didn't see a forum for new members to introduce themselves.
