    Post Choose Boots or Manor?

I have an offer for a 3rd year summer placement with boots and another for Manor pharmacy (derbyshire located company).. obviously my choice of where i do my 3rd year placement dictates where I get stuck for my pre-reg.

I have already done two placements for Boots (both at the same store with the same lovely pharmacist) but this summer I have been offered a different store which happens to be with my lovely pharmacist's husband, who I've met before and seems friendly enough. My placements went well, I really loved working with the staff at the store but I'm unsure whether I will enjoy it as much now the store has changed.

Never done a placement with Manor pharmacy.. and can't find much information on what the placement actually entails (e.g. for boots I had to attend welcome/review days and do a project and online tests etc.)

Feeling a bit loaded down with the weight of the decision of my 3rd year placement... any one got any ideas of who to go for?!

    Thanks!

I would consider that Boots would give you more thorough training and experience. Perhaps the Manor pharmacy is closer home?

Both equally as close to home so that can't help me choose!

I am swayed towards Boots as I know they organise a lot of extra things for their pre-reg training...

I think I've probably made up my mind and I'm just trying to confirm I've made the best choice!

Boots are good at training but will teach the boots way.
Manor will show you more of how the real world works I imagine.
Depends on where you see your early career going and what experience you will need.
Both will teach you enough to do the job.

If you do your 3rd year placement at Manor do you have to do a prereg with them? I know that boots won't event let you apply for a prereg if you don't do a placement with them! If you don't have to do a placement with Manor to get a prereg then i would do it at Boots as this could give you more options when it comes to applying for prereg places.

Also, is it me, or is Manor Pharmacy owned by a very frequent letter writer in the PJ? And a candidate of the English Pharmacy Board. If so, Manor Pharmacy would be a very interesting place to work!
