the nottingham interiew was really nice, i had this lady who teaches chemistry on the course, she was really nice and friendly and asked me to draw an ester and a carboxylic acid but i drew the ester wrong , she said thats ok you got it half right when i drew an ether instead, lol silly me- my fault i said we had just started oxygen containting compounds in our chem lessons! you might hear something off portsmouth or sunderland soon though
I have heard from Portsmouth , conditional offer
How did interview in Cardiff go?

I am a mature student from the Channel Isles my first choice is Keele and I got conditional offer (to get a B at chemistry and a pass in my access course with 70% distinctions '11 units'). It isn't a science access course, am taking Human Biology tho, with a bit of Bio Science and Psychology and ITC, o and a unit in Maths. Was suprised that they still wanted a B in chemistry as if I was doing a pure science access course am sure I would not be doing as much work as I am doing now . Owell at least I will be used to working hard tho

Second choice is Reading and they want a B and the course just passed with all units merit or distinction 'which isn't as hard to do'. Funny tho as they are a bit higher up the lege table and easier to get into.

Also have a interveiw with Huddersfield on the 17th of this month.

Didn't get into UCL, but didn't really want to go there anyway just thought they would be easier to get into

and haven't heard back from Sunderland yet

It was only a phone interveiw, so was not asked many questions. Do you have a phone interveiw or a face to face one ?

I am doing a level chemisty and an Access Course as well, taking Human Biology, Psychology and ITC at level 3. The amount of credits I will be getting from that is about the same as 2.5 A levels, plus my A level in chemistry.

    What are you taking ?

    Hi

Thanks for your reply, lucky you that you had a phone interview only. I have a face to face interview on the 24th of March. I am undertaking an Access to Science at the moment with biology, chemistry, socology and key skills at level 3 with IT skills and level 2 which should give me a total of 60 credits at level 3 and 9 at level 2. where else have you applied to?

    As above ^^^

Keele, conditional offer, have to get a B at A level Chemistry and 11 distinctions at level 3
Reading, conditionla offer, have to get a B as well and just pass the course with merits and distictions (which I am on course to do)
Huddersfield conditional offer, altho I don't know what the conditions are yet, as they have not told me and they are not on UCAS yet
    UCL, I did get into
Sunderland, I haven't heard back from yet.

Where have you applied to ?

wow thats really gd. I wanted to stay in my home town of Hudderfield but they dont accept access course on its own so for that reason i have had to apply to unis thats accept access course. I have applied to keele, preston, liverpool john moores, lester and lancaster. i have 2 interviews at present at preston and keele schduled for march. You know when keele say that want distinctions does that mean they ask for 70% because to get a distinction on my access you ned to get above 80%.

What they mean is I have to pass the course (45 credits at level 3, 15 at level 2). As we don't get graded for level 2 work, it works out as 70% of 45 is 31.5 credits / 3 as that is the number of units, which comes out at 10.5 units, so say 11 units passed as disstinction. That is the easy part tho, it is the A level chemisrty B that is worrying me lol

Is the pass mark you have to get the same as well; 45 credits at level 3, 15 at level 2, can you do more than 45 credits at level 3 as well?

Did you find that some of the Uni's don't care about quality they just want quanty? Med way wanted 57 credits a level 3 and didn't care if they were just as pass and Hertfordshire wanted 63 also not carring about what they were in or that they were just passes.
