    Pre-reg Competencies

    Hi,

I'm really confused about how the competencies we write up works? Basically most of the time our tutor is observing us which is fine because he can sign it as having observed it. But what happens if a locum pharmacist is present at..say...something important I want to write up. But I don't know if i'll ever see this locum again who signs it as observing it???

I hope i've posted this in the right section.

You may just have to write a piece of evidence quickly and get it signed then, I had a template from the work book on the computer and could put something together in minutes, not that I did very often. I suggest discussing this with your tutor. My evidence, such as it is, was witnessed by technicians, assistants and even clerks as well as pharmacists and my tutor, (whoever taught me something or me applying it)

All the best for your pre-reg, it goes so fast.

Where your tutor is not involved he
will need to see a report of what you did, and which Performance Standard(s) you
demonstrated. Such reports should be signed by yourself and countersigned by
the trainer, for inclusion in your Portfolio.

Testimonials are statements provided by a person who has worked with you and has been in a position to observe your performance.

The template is on page 105.

    Hope this helps.
