    NVQ Level 3 UNIT5 Heeelpppp

    Hi all,

I'm stock at question 20 in Progression Assessment (Mod 1 to 4) which says:

Explain four pieces of counseling or advice necessary when handing out a prescription for sodium chloride 5% eye drops and why each piece is important.

    Any hints?

Hi, I know one would be to discard the eye drops (once opened) after 28 days. Not sure of other advice, maybe how to use them?

Only things I can think of are wash hands before use, don't touch the eye itself, write the date of opening on the bottle and not sure about contact lense wearing.......can any pharmacist on here confirm this??? Sorry, can't remember anymore.....

Its an unlicensed special - Always worth checking though in case the prescriber has picked the wrong one.
May be unpreserved so only lasts 7 days after opening

Re: NVQ Level 3 UNIT5 Heeelpppp

Hi, i'm new to this site. It is very helpful but i have a question from Module 5 Progression Assessment that i am stuck on.
Section 2 Q's 9) Would it be appropriate to provide the information Mrs Avery has asked for? Illustrate your answer with 3 reasons why it is important to keep patient information confidential.

I understand the question but question number 10 also says give 3 examples of how you keep information confidential while working in the pharmacy. For this i went into a great lot of detail and have exhausted myself for an answer for Question 9. Please helppppp.
    Becky
