    3. They don't indulge in drink The international student nights in my student union would suggest otherwise
    4. They don't leave the course midway through I know several international students who have left and not because they ran out of money
    5. They are actually much more talented and have much more basic than UK students More talented at what and much more basic.......... you need to finish the sentence

I read a post by Raoul where he stated how hes noticed most UK students leave the course after 2-3 years as they just don't have it in them whereas foreign students stick it out. Just wanted to know what everyone's views on this is?

why are Home students so poor, I know it isn't all but the majority.
I love your illiberal use of evidence to back up the opinions.

As a result is the standard of graduates going down?
Surely if the home students aren't completing their study the proportion of international students will go up. Therefore using your logic more international students = better standards

I read this in a recent report from the rpsgb about one pharm school:
-that the School consider introducing a minimum number of marks below which condonement is not allowed. A suggestion is 30%.
    That's a separate issue

    40% isn't much, let alone 30!
There maybe differences between home and international students but i'm sure it is on an individual basis and it would be difficult justifying tarring everyone with the same brush. I think your attempting to wind us up.

That's a generalisation. My brother is a chemical engineer working for a world leader in his field, FTSE100 and all that. His firm have problems recruiting sufficiently skilled engineers and have done for years.

From my friends and family the engineers all have no problems on the job front even in this economic climate. If you have a good degree, work experience, transferable skills and work ethic you'll not be out of a job for long.

I don't think home students particularly differ that much from international students. It's mostly the perception and attitude they take on when they do the courses. I.e you can have a typical "not bothered" home student who mostly does it to kill time and have an international cramming student who's eye's turn the size of onions cause they've been up 3 days to study till they resemble a gremlin. Yet I have personally seen hard working honest home students who trully want to get somewhere with their course and seen drunk, manipulative international students dispite their religion and hard working background fail their exams.
So really it mostly bases on how the student takes the course on board (atitude and perspective wise)

Well of course he means those forbidden by their religion to touch alcohol.
When I was in Trinidad in the 70s, went on a trip into the Caroni swamp to see the Scarlet Ibis etc. As soon as we had gone round the corner, out came bottles of rum and whisky. Oh, says I, thought you are not allowed to drink. We give it up for Ramadan and India is a long way away was the reply. Then we all enjoyed ourselves.

They said that a bit of rum helped to ward off the mosquitos and the couple of girls on board who did not have a drink certainly got well bitten.

    Those were the days.
