just do a quick one before going off topic too much:
have u considered doing rural? my friend did a locum, 4 hours drive from melbourne, for 3-4weeks i think. It was a good pay (not sure the exact amount but she was pleased) plus free accommodation all the way. Same here in the UK, some areas are extremely competitive, I got sent to a very remote village during my summer placement. How about going to NZ? Oz pharmacists told me that only NZ pharmacists would come to Oz to work, but not the other way round as they all think the life in NZ is too boring. If you are desparate to get an offer, would NZ be an option (any extra requirement to work there?). in uk we generally do 2-3 summer placements
cost of living in aus is cheaper: 10 bucks for pizza in aus, 10 pounds for a pizza here, 5 bucks for a kebab, 5 pounds over here, petrol: 80c for 1 litre when i left aus, its 1pound 10 here
Hi seniors,
I've just accepted an unconditional offer from University of Manchester to start MPharm next year. Does this new regulation also affects me like 5years down the road? Should i like just head elsewhere for a pharmacy programme?
A week is a long time in politics, five years is an eternity. I am sure that govnmt will acknowledge one year post grad necessary and will extend visa to cover. However, it will also probably mean that after full qualification it will be very difficult to continue to stay on in UK to pay off student debt.
Govnmt thought only very wealthy students would come here to study and not that they would then expect to stay on indefinitely.

you are not missing anything, at least in Australia everyone is treated equally by the government and no EU citizen will have privileges over you.... which is why you won't find any eastern Europeans working there.
My aunt is living in Australia, she moved there 40 years ago with her hubby and remained there. i have always been impressed with the Australian policies and regulations. they have tough rules to protect their country and not let fanatics take over, they make their own rules and no one tell them how to govern the people. Foreign policies are good with all the countries
i said it before, go to canada or australia..... by the time you finish your degree in canada you will become a citizen.
in the UK, nothing is stable..... the gov have no power to tell any EU citizen to obtain a visa before arriving.... the EU is expanding (should collapse soon anyway) and on 2004, 8 eastern European countries joined the EU, hence millions entered the UK, Germany and France to work/live/claim benefits.
Keep in mind that within 5 years, Turkey might join the EU (with a population of 80 millions). that's why the gov will keep on targeting immigration from non-EUU countries, and i expect they won't let anyone in by the time you graduate. the opposite might happen, EU collapses, or a new gov take us out of this mess!
the advantage in other countries is they are stable, they will not disadvantage you if they feel the strain of immigration. most importantly, no wanker will have a privilege over you based on the passport he carries (that's what has left me disheartened).
