    Hi,

Be aware of the new immigration rules. You cant get a post study visa on your own as an OSPAP if your pre-reg salary is less than 20k. I suggest refer to the latest immigration guidelines. If you already have an approval from the RPSGB and thinking of an Uni then better do it fast and seek pre-reg with an licensed work permit provider before you accept any offer.

    PM me for more details.

If you are from Pakistan may find your application and background being closely scrutinised in view of recent arrests on terrorist charges of people on 'student visas'.

    Hi Shan,

Thanks for the suggestion...yes, I'll make sure to check every thing before I join OSPAP. But, where can I find the immigration rules ….???

I'm on HSMP dependent visa, so I guess, I can join pre-reg irrespective of the immigration rules.

However, we have to apply for permanent residence just after my school – Sep 2010....Hope we will get through this very easily...as we are paying all time high taxes...

    Cheers

Hardly a very small percentage of pre-reg positions are paid 20k in the UK, most of the pre-regs get much lower salaries.
Applicants who don't need work permits usually have priority in getting jobs even if they were weaker than the non work permit holders.
This new regulation means that no OSPAP can get work permit unless he/she has British(or European) citezenship !

all hospital pre-reg are paid 20 or more reem!
i agree and disagree, maybe independent contractors, but not the big multiples. i doubt employers will mind giving the job to anyone, especially multiples, i had 3 offers from 3 different employers. Something you may not be familiar with, but believe it or not employers should follow some recruitment policies, one of which is giving ' equal treatment' when interviewing all applicants. However the matter of getting the work permit from the home office is different as the employer needs to provide evidence that the post has been advertised for 2 weeks, and no British/EU citizen could occupy the post, then the home office will issue a work permit.
you are confusing the home office with employers and their recruitment policies when someone apply for a job. TS should provide more info re recruitment policies

Correct Raoul. The employer does not make the rules, govnmt policy. Most countries have rule on jobs for locals first. "British jobs for British workers".

No because British graduates are not necessarily British. I do believe that a country should act responsibly and train its own professionals rather than poaching as the UK health service has been inclined to do in the past. However "British jobs for British workers" is a practical political solution to keep the countries citizens in work before helping the rest of the world with its unemployment problems. Charity begins at home and all that.
