NVQ Level 3 yr 2/Pharmacy Technician

Is anyone doing NVQ 3 yr 2?
I am just about to start Unit 1...... omg it has 5 elements, thought doing unit 3 & 11 together was bad enough, but it just gets worse!
Any help and advise would be greatly received.
I work full time with no time given for study in work time, what a nightmare, why do we put ourselves through this......did I ever have a life and will I ever again!!!!

Hey Stephanie

I have sent you a private message about Unit 1.

However, do you, or anyone else know whether the performance criteria for each unit has to be covered once or at least twice??

Also, have you done Unit 4?? Does anyone know what is meant by 'Give an example of a workplace policy that is different to manufacturers or suppliers instructions'. I'm really confused what this could be about. Example, if we get a fridge line in, then it will go, straight into the fridge.

In my opinion, the straight answer to a question like that is 'There are none', because I can't think of any reason why there should be. Controversially, could this be someone trying to collect information for another clandestine project?

Laura I am doing the NPA NVQ 3 yr 2 and all units so far ask me to cover all criteria and ranges at least once, but give me a minimum amount of reports to complete each unit in.
Only done unit 10 3 & 11 so far, now starting unit 1.

I am doing nvq3 with buttercups, finding it ok so far but i find it hard to get my evidence signed off due to busy pharmacists,

would be good to here form anyone else doing nvq3

Jo I have exactly the same problem, getting the pharmacist to mark my work is near on impossible. Each time I complete a few reports I bring it to his attention to mark and leave them for him to do in his own time, but he always leaves it until it's a mad rush at the end.
I think it's unfair that the Pharmacist and student are not given any time within working hours for marking work or time to sit and discuss things. I get no help what so ever, what about you?

HI LAURA,RE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PHARMACY AND MANUFACTURERS POLICY.i USED A LAMINATOR AS AN EXAMPLE,I SAID THAT THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS DON'T MENTION TYING HAIR BACK AND THAT THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS.I LAMINATED A POSTER STATING'WARNING,KEEP HAIR TIED BACK',STUCK IT ON THE WALL ABOVE THE LAMINATOR AND TOOK A PHOTO FOR EVIDENCE AND THE NPA ACCEPTED IT!!HOPE THIS HELPS

Sorry to interupt your topic. But is anyone studying the pharmacy services course NVQ Level 2 and 3 at the South London College??

I am an international student and waiting for the answer on the course structure and how the course will proceed for 2 years from the college. Can anyone guide me with how long do I have to study and how long do I have to work during these two years and when?
