NVQ Level 3 yr 2/Pharmacy Technician

I am waiting for my unit 1 to come back from the npa, fingers crossed I have done enough work for it.I have been waiting three weeks and can't seem to concentrate on the next unit because I am waiting to see if I have to re-sub it.Will this course ever end!Also just wondering does anyone always have the same person marking their units because I have had two different people marking mine and someone who I work with said she always had the same assesor.

I think it depends on the centre that does your marking and assessing. We had just one external assessor. This caused only one problem when she went sick or on holiday but at least we knew what to expect each time. I think with the NVQ 3 or any NVQ for that matter, the assessors do seem to have differing marking standards. We had three internal assessors and they each had their own standards and requirements. This can get very frustrating........

Keep plugging away at it as it really is worth it in the end.

Just got my unit 1 back today and a have to re-sub it for a few thing I thought I had covered but hadn't.My assesor has basically told me what I need to do to cover everything,the only thing she has not been clear on is how I show confidentiality,she says I have not shown this but I thought I had by talking about PMR's etc.Anyone got any ideas how I could show this

hi,i covered this by finding out some information for a customer ,putting it in an envelope,writting the customers name and marking it as private and confidential.hope this may help

Also, as far as the amount of evidence you need to produce to prove performance competence etc, my tutor and assessor made me do a minimum of five pieces of evidence for each. Yes that seems a lot but better to do too much than not enough as the marking centre assessor will always return your work.

hi all im currently doin unit 1 lvl 3 2nd year i have completed it once n had it sent back for resub cause my evidence was good just dates didnt match hopefully resubin it this week had to do 75% of it again

Poor you Melly.....thats a lot of extra stuff to do but i'm sure you'll get there.

i know its loads of extra work n gotta have it all finished by october this is my 1st module i have done due to not enough staff n movin companys but at least i get 1hr study time now

Hi everyone, i too am in 2nd year just struggling through Unit 2. Is it me or does everybody else find it very repetive. My pharmacist is also amazed of what we are expected to do.Just looking at it now:

I am on year two and have just got unit 2 back and have got to re-sub it. I have had four different assesors now so I never know what is expected of me.My pharmacist says she does not see what I am learning from this and I have to agree.Can't wait to finish,
