    Method of storage

When I was making NaCl mouthwash in the practical lesson,
there were serval types of bottles that I can chose from.

    Amber bottles ribbed
    Amber bottles plain
    Clear bottles ribbed
    Clear bottles plain

Can someone explain the function of each type of bottle plx!
    Thx

    Ribbed are for external liquids.

    Normal are for internal medicines.

Brown tinted glass is used to protect item from light.

external liquids are placed in ribbed bottles to make it easy for a blind person to know the product for external use, hence avoid taking it orally

The amber colouration protects the product from degredation caused by light. If your product contains just NaCl and Water for Preparations you won't need an amber bottle. If you're adding other compounds to the product you may need to look up their stability in light - or just play it safe and put it in an amber glass bottle anyway.

You have taken me back a few years. We used to use octagonal blue bottles for 'poisons' and external preps. Remember selling 4oz bottles of chlorodyne in blue octagonal bottles.
