Hi could you tell me more as regarding to the calculation questions you mentioned as I didn't get the exact answer but chose the closest instead. I am very worried that I will have failed the 27th July exam. Because I rushed through the last 20 questions and simply made guessings for the lsat 10. Do you think everyone has the same comment about this awful exam and everyone was uncertain whether they will pass. I have just heard the average pass rate in the first time is above 90%. If it is, do you think they will make some adjustment during marking if too many pre-reg fail. Because this exam doesn't sound 90% pre-reg studnet will pass. Thanks for your help. I think even though the exam feels hard everyone gets more questions right than they think, thats why the pass rate is so high. As far as i know the society doesn't standardise marks to let more people pass. |

the exam overall was ok the closed paper was a breeze. Time was the biggest enemy in the open paper, i too had 2 guess at least 20 questions. Calculations weren't that bad but i just didnt have time to go over them felt really rushed. Just hope i pass.

Does anyone know how to use the RPSGB website on the specified day in order to find out about the exam results please? Why do they put the names of passing prereges instead of their numbers, where is the confidentiality if all the staff you work with will be able to see your result before you do?? |

I think that the RPSGB register will not be updated until the weekend to reflect those that will be pharmacists as of the following Monday. A couple of years ago all newly-qualified pharmacists were added to the register on the Thursday afternoon and so by searching for themselves on the register they could find out if they had passed before the official letter arrived on the Friday. RPSGB realised their mistake and have done what I implied in the first paragraph since to prevent early notification - what difference it makes is beyond me although if someone is using the register to see who is registered then potentially could think that a pre-reg is a registered pharmacist a few days before they technically are.

Glad i found this website! 2 days untilll results and i'm terrified! It's comforting to see that it wasnt just me who had to guess the last 20 questions on the open book! It's not that the open book is extreamly difficult, it's literally just a stupid amount of information to look up in an hour. To the person who started this thread - I'd say once your daughter has been over her revision material once, get stuck into as many passed papers and questions as possible - and do them timed! Furthermore....the society give out half sample papers, i'd save the 2 most recent sets and do them the week of the exam and do them together as a full-length mock so she's used to the sheer length of the exam. I don't know about anybody else but i was physically tired after the open book! I think the organisation of the pre-reg exam is awful - it could really be split into three...maybe the maths paper first off, hour break, followed by closed book, hour break, followed by open book - and give us an extra 15 mins on the open book or something, that would have made all the difference to me. Anyways, good luck to all the pre-reg's on here - i hope you're all pharmacist's come monday morning! )
