I don't think it matters too much when you start. A couple of weeks less of work time before the exam isn't really going to affect how much you know. What is more important is that you start revising for the exam in good time.

Regarding time off before the exam, the answer is none if you mean study leave. Your employer isn't obliged to give you any time off. Some people get some (I got a week), and some people take holiday, but it isn't compulsory.

Any former/ current pre-reg tutors out there got any tips. Please spill the beans. I realise that it is dependent to a large extent on the individual but your perspective would help.
