chloral hydrate 200mg
blackcurrent syup 1 ml
water 0.1ml
syrup to 5ml

mitte 300ml

Think of it as a recipe and you are scaling it up to feed more people.
It tells you how much you need to make 5ml
To make 300ml you will need 300/5 times more which is 60.

Chloral hydrate 200mg x 60 = ??
Blackcurrant syrup 1ml x 60 = ??
Water 0.1ml x 60 = ??
Syrup to 5ml x 60 = 300ml

I'll leave you to fill in the amounts. Usually once the quantity goes above 1000mg switch to grams.

salicylic acid 2%
yellow soft paraffin 20%
emulsifying oint 18%
hard paraffin 10%
coconut oil 50%

mitte 50g Apply ON

First check all the ingredients add up to 100%, which they do.
Now you can do this two ways.
Hard way is to calculate each ingredient individually eg.
2% = 2/100 and multiply by the quantity you want (50g) 50*2/100
And repeat for the other amounts
The other way is to look at the amount required (mitte 50g).
So assume you are making 100g (100%) and that 50 is a half of 100, simply
half the quantities of the ingredients.

Now I'll let you do the sums.
Post your answers back here for marking by sunday evening, or lose out an a gold star.

question 1
200mg x 60 = 12g
1ml x 60 = 60mls
0.1ml x 60 = 6 mls
5ml x 60 = 300ml so they are the qauntity

question 2
2% = 2/100 x 50 = 1g
20%= 20/100 x 50 = 10g
18%= 18/100 x 50 = 9g
10%= 10/100 x 50 = 5g so these ae the quantitys needed ?

500/5=100

200ml x 100 = 20g
1ml x 100 = 100ml
0.1 x 100 = 10 ml
5ml x 100 = 500ml

Sorted.
No more chloral scripts today!
you did mean 200mg x 200 = 20g.
