Hi, I´m a community pharmacist. I´ve been working in community for 3 years and I´m getting a bit bored now. I´ve been thinking of doing a post graduate diploma in community and I´d like to know if any of you have done it and if you could give me any advice. I´d really like to improve my clinical knowledge but I´m afraid it may be too difficult for me as english is not my first language. I´ve got hospital experience in UK but I didn´t work out as I found it quite difficult. I think that by doing this diploma not only my clinical knowledge will improve but also my chances to build up a career.
As you can see I´m a bit confused at the moment. Any advices will be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Your English is very good. Are you working in UK at the moment. You are bored with community and hospital 'did'nt work out'.
Does this mean you are looking to work in industry, teaching or ?

Doing a PhD is a viable option.
I've heard stories where people have taken a year to go abroad to 'save the world' per se, and have learnt a whole wealth of knowledge (clinical knowledge included), which helped them a lot to adapt to changing sectors from community to hospital.
Just thinking about increase my clinical knowledge by doing any course. The thing is I don´t know exactly which one would be suitable. I found that working in hospital was quite hard but also really challenging. Wouldn´t mind to try it again in future but want to make sure that I´m enough prepared.
Many thanks
Hi there,
Just wondering if any of you have done a prescribing course for healthcare professionals and wanted to know what you think about it. I´ve thinking of doing it as it lasts only a semester but I´m not quite sure if you can do it only if you´ve previously done the diploma. I´m not sure if I´m going to like to do the diploma. Therefore by doing this prescribing module I´ll find out if I really like it and if I´m enough prepared to attempt the diploma but without spending too much money and time.
Any advices will be much appreciated.
