I turned to my local pharmacy department at the end of december to order dexamethasone injection ( as the direct to pharmacy gods wouldn't let me have any ), just got my invoice through today, and they charged £17.33 for goods of a list price of £9.10.
But ..... thats not all...... '' service charge'' of £25.... yes TWENTY FIVE...... . They didn't even deliver for feks sake, we had to go and pic it up in our van......
Re: Hospital staff must be well paid because ........
Don't forget that dexamethasone is in short supply, so I daresay that the price has gone up. Dunno about the £25 service charge though. I guess they are allowed to claim for staff costs and overheads like anyone else as it's a private transaction. Still, seems a bit steep.
