Lloyds advice re: interview and company

    Hi Guys

I've recently been approached by Lloyds after one of my old uni friends put my name down in their 'recommend a pharmacist' scheme. Had a phone interview and have asked me to come in for a face to face interview as they may have a store for me and but they also want to talk about a relief position.

First of all does anyone have any advice on what the focus of the interview will be, what sort of things do they want to talk about/ask questions about?

Second of all does anyone have any experiences of working for Lloyds good or bad they would like to share with me (feel free to private message me if you would prefer).

    Thanks

I've heard they might be doing away with their in store radio station that's driving me towards mental illness so things aren't all bad.

Background noise to drown out the bloody staff talking about celebs, heat magazine, and the latest unintellectual crap on television, was my saviour while locuming for Lloyds.

Lloyds: no staff, those that exist are untrained, poorer pay and working conditions than it's competitors, and you'll have your nuts twisted to do targets til they twist off

OP: hope you ask your 'friend' to split the £1000 recommendation with you? Or have they not told you?

My experiences of Lloyds have all been poor. I locumed at a few branches in 2009. They were all understaffed and low moral.
To cap it all Lloyd's underpaid me. Took me months to get back what the agency had booked me at.

Do they have any pharmacists as area managers?

I have to say, my experience has been the other way around. I was led to believe Boots were good with staff, pay better, training ok etc. But this was not the case. Of course, each branch is different and i'm sure i've simply been unlucky. I gave up a reasonable job at Lloyds to go to the job at Boots and it has been one of my biggest career regrets. I was shocked at the things that happened during the time I was there.
But every pharmacy has it's issues. The targets are the same sort of thing. Lloyds and Boots only care about the targets and the harassment that goes on by head office or upper management towards the staff in store was appalling in both companies. But at least Lloyds management occasionally backed off when the Pharmacist stood up for themselves.
I also need to point out that i'm a Technician.
Given the choice between working for the two companies, I would pick Lloyds. But this is simply my opinion. I think a person should weigh up the pros and cons themselves and make their own decision......

Never tried Boots but let's just say lots of changes ahead with Lloyds, might not be the best move to make at the moment.

Re the relief position: Check the pay rate if you still want to sell your soul. I've recently heard that it's £14.50 per hour, in South Wales at least
