Tuberculosis drugs free in community pharmacy?

Are TB drugs free for a patient who otherwise pays for his scripts? If so, on what grounds?
    Thanx for help

Not as far as I am aware. They're not cancer or contraceptive drugs, nor automatically prescribed only to prisoners on their release from Jail

    You must be in England.
    No such exemption.

Used to be exempt in Scotland before charges were abolished.

Correct, there was (still is) a separate exemption box on the back of the script for free-of-charge drugs for TB. I always assumed this was UK-wide. Pandemic flu drugs were also free of charge for all patients during the swine flu scare a couple of years ago.

Odd. We give them out free at my hospital (East of England). I assumed that it was a general thing.
