    What's wrong with this answer?

I was interviewed by a small chain pharmacy and they asked how it was having previously worked for Boots and lloyds.

    I replied "It was alright."

And the interviewer immediately pulled a disgusted face. So I expanded "Each place has their own good and bad points, I was fortunate to have good work colleagues."

I did not get the job..

Was it just that pharmacist or have I given a direly wrong answer..?

Maybe it was because you didn't sound pasionate enough about working in a community environment.....i think the term "it was alright" doesn't come across as too professional...and maybe the way you said it, gave the impression you weren't that bothered.......i probably wouldn't ahve mentioned the bad points...if you can pick out the bad points in a national chain then they may be scared what you will say about their small chain pharmacy!

I see, that makes sense. I should have been more serious in the interview. The Pharmacist talked to me very casually and I shouldn't have gone along with that same tone.

Maybe next time I should say "It was a good experience. It's made me want to undertake a career in community pharmacy. Since I have heard so many good things about working for this company, it would be an excellent choice to progress here."

Too short an answer. Sounds blaze.

I wouldn't take on an assistant who gave me that answer.
