Does anyone have any views on the relative benefits of the various Dispensing Assistant training courses available. I've trained two people on the Buttercups course (some years ago) which seemed very dry and boring. Since then I've used NPA but am really bored with that. Anyone have any experience of C and D? It also looks as if Buttercups has been revamped so might be better now.
Overall I think the courses available have no real relevance to most of the things a good Dispensing Assistant learns in practice but that's probably down to the accreditation requirements rather than the course providers. Anyway, any opinions would be valued.
NPA is usually a good course but as you say they can sometimes be a tad boring and may not be totally relevant to the actual job itself. I always think that courses get you to the stage were you are then ready to do the job but you learn more as you go. I know several folk who've completed the NPA course (including myself) and thought it was helpful to get us started. I also did the NPA NVQ 3 and although it was hard going at times, it was well worth the effort.
