Ok, here's what you do- get your dispenser/pre-reg to answer the phone. Get them to tell the customer you are busy and ask if they can help.
9/10 they are calling for opening times, to check if their Rx is on the shelf, to book in a pick up from a surgery etc.. if they really need YOU, they will wait 2 mins on the phone till you've finished looking at that script!
I did this for my pharmacist last year and I loved it as it's amazing how many people call for the pharmacist but then are quite happy to deal with a pre-reg when they find out they will have to hold for a minute. Imagine all of those interesting queries I might have missed if I let the pharmacist take every call!
