    Try Penn Pharmaceuticals: Penn - Welcome to Penn Pharma ;
    they can supply 1mg, 2mg, 3mg, and 5mg capsules, all made in sunny Pembrokeshire under GMP, so no letter required.

    Re: Melatonin ordering grief

    I was under the impression that the MHRA had suggested that a letter be obtained for any unlicenced melatonin - which Penn's will be.

    Of course, we're supposed to check with GP and patient for any unlicenced use of anything.... I think this letter business just points it up for the one product, and GPs who don't normally even stop to think about it suddenly get twitchy.

    However, the MHRA advice is only that - advice - not legal requirements. However, you should consider your position (and re-read the actual advice yourself! I could be remembering wrong, or putting my own intereptation on it) if there was a problem, in light of the fact that someone may bring this advice up. Probably unlikely for melatonin, but may become more useful with other drugs in the future if the MHRA follow this course again.
