    New 100 hr pharmacy

    Hello,
Im planning to open a new 100 hour pharmacy (with a pharmacist friend!!) in a decent location in the new year. We have applied for the license and our waiting on the PCT for a response. We estimate we will be doing about 3500- 4000 items within the first 6 months. If my calculations are correct (big if) i hope we are making a decent profit...certainly in the second year.

Has anyone got any advice or experience of starting a new pharmacy? there are soo many things to consider any general tips or advice would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

First of all best of luck.

I know someone has opened 100hrs pharmacy nearby brighton area(can't be more specific). I think so it has closed now after 9 months. I would mention this points to consider.

    - Don't rent too big Pharmacy place than needed at this moment, These would cut thousands £££ in (COUNCIL TAX, utility bills and in maintanance)
    - Another thing i would think twice in choosing supplier like Alliance, AAH, Sigma etc.

i will post later If something will come in mind later.

    Yes,
    Good luck.
The 100 hour route is probably the last route for an independent to start up these days.
Where am I?; In the Pharmacy.
Who are you?; The new Number 2.
Who is number 1?; You are number 6.
    What do you want?;..................

it could work if this location is no way near any other pharmacies and has a large drs surgery nearby..although the chances of that happening are quite slim

my ideal plan would be to go into partnership with a dr, nurse and dentist..all services under one roof, and ahve a location in a busy town with minimal competition to contend with....but its still a dream and will probably stay that way

    good luck though!
