In my training I have that allergic rhinitis is different to hayfever and that I should refer to the pharmacist as the treatment is different... why is this?

Two types of allergic rhinitis - seasonal, i.e hayfever (common) and perennial (uncommon).

ohhh i thought it was a completely different disorder... so how would the treatment differ?
Info is in any good OTC book. Treatment would depend on symptoms - nasal congestion is more common in perennial than seasonal whereas ocular symptoms tend to be less so.
