I suppose you have all seen your companies starting to advertise for more staff/floor walkers etc for the larger retail shop side.... So what is to happen different, once again to the succesful smaller local pharmacies in their chains..... We do have alot of extra trade, we have christmas stock, we have more people wanting their meds early because they say they are going away at christmas! or they have forgotten to order them at the last minute and we still have the same amount of staff, till/tills as the rest of the year! Oh and if you work the christmas saturday normally, you HAVE to come in another day that week. just to ensure your knackered by the end of the week.
Once again, it will be a cold coffee sitting on the side, the phone continueously ringing as no one has time to answer it, hopefully orders getting placed for the retail side on time, nothing getting cleaned including the toilet area and an area manager probably not in sight for the month, as sweat is pouring off our brows....just a thought anyway
That all sounds familiar.....the grunts do the hard work the managers swan around with from meeting to meeting trying to keep stores open, the area managers filter down unrealistic targets, the upper managers sit in their offices playing on the internet and not giving a damn about staff or customers just as long as targets are met etc........this isn't just pharmacy. It's the way things are in business.
The only way to deal with this is to try and have fun at work, do the maximum you can for your loyal and lovely customers and treat those above you like mushrooms.
ok, so this year christmas day and boxing day fall on a weekend, so in total its a 4day holiday....are we really in such demand??
i like how in the past when christmas has fallen mid week and its like a 2day holiday, everyone goes into overdrive and orders ALL their meds in case they run out.....makes me laugh and pity them all!
Best of it is, the human body if properly maintained, is completely self-sufficient and self-supporting therefore obviating the requirement for the introduction of any external compound in order to maintain its normal functional capacity.
