Part of FP10 dispensed - can we get prescription back?

Hi all,
If an FP10 has 2 items but the pharmacy has only dispensed 1 item and the other is out of stock (manufacturers delay) can the patient get the Fp10 back to take to another pharmacy that has the item in stock?

I'm having this problem with my mothers prescription. The pharmacy say theres a delay on her blood testing strips but cannot give the FP10 back as they have already dispensed and supplied her Calcichew. Is there any legal standpoint on this?

No, you will have to obtain another prescription. In the meantime, complain to your MP.

also be prepared that another pharmacy will probaly have the same problem !

Yes, the pharmacy requires the prescription form to receive payment for the item which they have already dispensed. It would not be possible for them to give the prescription form back.

The best thing to do is to get another prescription for the glucose test strips to take elsewhere. Some manufacturers restrict supply of their products into wholesalers to fixed maximums (quotas). This is probably why the item is out of stock, not because there is an actual manufacturing problem.

other than going to doctors for another prescription you could try ringing the actual company who makes the strips and they might be able to send you box out
