How do you define a "busy pharmacy"?
How many items a day does it seem reasonable for a pharmacist to dispense?

300-400, sometimes this can be much more.
Depends, if the store has more of walkin customers then it looks very busy even with only 200-300 items per day. Whereas a shop doing 500 items per days from repeats and little bit of walk i customers may not look busy. Again the level of staffing and their competence also determines how quick the things are finished.

Depends on a number of factors.
Taking it to basics - 300 - 400 for one pharmacist, one dispenser, and one take-in/hand-out.
Take in/hand out important - gives time to talk to those who need it.
This is with no collection/deliveries.
Rest depends on MDS/Collection/Deliveries and all the other stuff that we have added on for no extra income!

As discussed on many other threads, a busy day has as much to do with workflow and interruptions as shear numbers... even in the same shop. I remember 2 special days at one shop - one day was my highest script count anywhere ever - but smooth, the next week we did half the number of scripts, with the same staff, but loads of queries etc and it was hellish!
